All sorts of organisations and theological colleges hold vocations events to help you explore ordination or other forms of service. Some are annual and some are fairly frequent. This page mentions some of them, but please bookmark this page and check back regularly as new events will appear once dates are published.

Every year, the Ministry Division of the Church of England organises a weekend Vocations Conference for men and women who want to explore the idea of ordained ministry.

STEP FORWARD


'Step Forward is day for Christians aged 18 to 30 to explore whether God is calling them to ordained ministry. It is organised by a group of DDO's ('Diocesan Directors of Ordinands' - HR for the Church of England) and members of Cranmer Hall, Durham, who long to see young Christians exercising their gifts in mission and ministry. The next event is detailed below:
When? Saturday 2 March 2012, 11:00 to 16:00
Where? Bishopthorpe Palace, York - home of Sentamu, Archbishop of York, who will be preaching at the conference and praying with those who attend

GOD, THE FUTURE AND ME


God, The Future and Me is an ecumenical event (C of E, Baptist, URC, Methodist) for young people aged 16-25 who want to think about their calling.
On: Saturday 17th March, 10.30am-5.00pm with brunch served from 10.30am.
At: St. Peter's House Chaplaincy, Manchester University, Oxford Road.

VOCATIONS WEEKEND IN MANCHESTER 27TH-29TH APRIL 2012


There will be a vocations weekend in Manchester for anyone considering ordained ministry. It will include prayer, fellowship, talks on Ministry and resources including books, films and poetry to help you consider your vocation. COMMITTEE FOR MINORITY AND ETHNIC ANGLICAN CONCERNS

CPAS (CHURCH PASTORAL AID SOCIETY)


CPAS holds You and Ministry weekends for men and women exploring the possibility of ordained or other authorised ministries, and their partners. They also run lifecall young vocations days. This is a relaxed one-day event helping those aged 16-25 explore God’s call and work out the ‘next step’.

AFFIRMING CATHOLICISM & SOCIETY OF CATHOLIC PRIESTS

Wycliffe Hall, Oxford
Offers a range of courses for those training for Christian ministry. To find out more visit on one of their open days.These normally last from 10am to 4 pm.

Cranmer Hall, Durham
Open Evening, Thursday 1st December 2011, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm
This is an opportunity learn about training in Durham for ordained ministry, included pioneer ministry and context-based training. You will meet staff (including Cranmer's new warden, Mark Tanner), chat with existing students, learn about courses and community life and close the evening in prayer in the college chapel, situated in a World Heritage Site.
