when responding to God’s call. If you feel a sense of calling to service in the
Church of England, read how some of these people heard their call from God.
These stories will help you to reflect on your own calling.

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you…” said God to Abraham

Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I
should go to Pharaoh…?” And God
said, "I will be with you.”

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the

Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is
listening."

afraid; from now on you will catch men."
So they pulled their boats up on shore,
left everything and followed him.

Jesus said to him, "Follow me."

Mary Magdalene went to the disciples
with the news: "I have seen the Lord!"

"I am
Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he
replied. "Now get up and go into the
city, and you will be told what you must
do."

The Lord opened her heart to respond
to Paul's message.
